I have caught the Black gun sickness, first build coming soon

I am in the middle of the research, and trying to decide a direction to go for my first build.

Use- first and foremost I would like it to be accurate out to 150-200 yard, this will be my secondary go to self-defense weapon. 1:7 twist, mid-length is what I am leaning towards.

Magpul, OD green furniture most likely, not sure if I would go with Magpul MOE hand guard, or more of a quad rail

I have been looking at Spikes, LMT, Bravo Company, and Palmetto State Armory(local, good prices) most.

Few upgrades I am come to expect I will add

    1.BCM Gunfighter Charging handle
    2. Magpul ASP multi point sling
    3. Magpul MAID Grip with back up bolt and firing pin
    4. Primary Arms RDS to start out
    5. Troy pop up battle sights.

Looking for any other suggestions, if I go with all Palmetto Arms armory I can get a solid start at 750.00 out the door, but not looking to cut corners, but can’t go the LWRC or Knights route right this second.

LMT and Bravo Company are proven performers, PSA guns are fairly new, and I don't have any experience with them. My $0.02.

Can't go wrong with a BCM upper. You might want to reconsider that optic choice if you are doing much shooting at 150-200 yds.

Yea that optic was basically just a starter to get a red dot that would not break the bank.

    This thread is masturbation.

OP, If you lurk around and read some of the thousands of threads here you will find the info you are looking for. That will do you much more justice than the few thoughtful replies you will get here.

Interesting way to put it, I have been reading through here, ar15.com, and getting some great feedback on my normal forum over at Sigfourm

NO amount of internut research makes up for research on the range.

Buy a basic carbine, get training on it, practice, modify as needed.

Take this from someone who went down the path you are preparing to go down and regrets it.

I have put a few hundred rounds through AR's that belonged to others, got tired of not having one myself to put through the paces.
