I have two 11.5 SBRs, one with a DD Lite rail and the other with a MOE/FSB setup. I like the MOE better for quick-use stuff because of its balance, but if weight doesn't matter in a given application, I like the FDE one. I don't run a light on the MOE, but if I decided to, there are many such mounting options. IWS in particular has some great solutions for that stuff. I did use their QD mount for the MOE and that locks up nice and solid. Really great design and I'm confident that their light mounting options are equally elegant. http://www.impactweaponscomponents.c...t/light-mount/.

As configured below, the green one weighs 6 lb 4 oz. The FDE one weighs 7 lbs 9 oz. The green one is lighter and swings easily because of the lack of weight out front but both rifles have their advantages and I use them for different things. If I had to get rid of one of them, I'd be hard-pressed to decide which one.

I use H2 buffers with Tactical Springs blue springs in both and have absolutely no issue. I have an H3 buffer around here somewhere and I keep meaning to try it, but I'm not particularly recoil-sensitive and everything runs so well currently that I'm not especially motivated to swap the buffers out.

    DWood,

You could lighten it more by getting rid of the PIG, the VFG and the mag coupler. I personally do not care for Redi-mags at all. If you want a VFG use the Tango Down QD stubby. You could also consider selling the M4 sight and getting a T-1. Just some food for thought.

Also, if you move the VFG forward more I think you will feel a difference in the overall balance of the weapon.

Guess a lot really depends on what type of set up you prefer.....do you prefer fixed irons or fold down? We all have different preferences so that's something you'll have to decide. They both have advantages and disadvantages dependent upon the user.

My 11.5" used to be set up with fixed irons and never had a problem with it, however my shootig style eventually changed and I began to prefer having my support hand further forward than the standard HG's would allow so I swapped out to a DD 10.0 Lite. I currently run a TLR1s mounted at 3 o'clock which works fine for me, however I'd like to add a tape switch to it at some point.

I don't miss the fixed sights and I'm very happy with the current set up as its shoots nice and soft and is not ammo sensitive. Good luck with your build.

IG, you are absolutely right. The Redi Mag was just to check it out and will most likely get pulled off. Once I do that I don't need to change anything else as this SBR works for me.
