If you needed a reliable/accurate 9mm 1911 for carry, under 2k, what would you buy? 4 or 5" only.

I would go with a Springfield loaded target...
I personally would stay away from 9mm M1911. Everything that I have read seems to indicate that they simply don't have the reliability for a defensive pistol. A CZ-75 for BHP MK III both have very similar overall feel to a 1911 and are much more reliable with the 9mm round.
Another good polymer option is to pick up a M&P 9mm with thumb safety and night sights. This pistol could be had for around $510 at grtactical and is far superior to a 9mm 1911 for a defensive pistol. http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...ion&key=306701
9mm 1911 under $2K? Only one choice IMO. Dan Wesson Guardian.
Thanks guys, I was just curious for future reference. I'm getting a steel 9mm sometime before that (cz 75), but wante a nice 9mm 1911 after I get a few other things bought.
Something from STI. Most likely the Trojan.
STI is probably a good choice, though I have to admit that I have never really understood the allure of a 9mm 1911.

Its called a glock.. I just saved you $1500 bucks, You can send me 10% for finders fee.
In all seriousness, 9MM 1911's are the last thing you want to carry for protection.
