Since it's a 14.5", I'd question whether the mid length or carbine gas system is the way to go.
Now, of my guns, my flavor of the week is an LMT mk18 on a Noveske lower, Aimpoint T1, mini scout light, SOPMOD on a Vltor A5, stubby Tango Down and a Matech and KAC folding BUIS.
I'm still going to say a 14.5". Right now I'm running a BCM mid length but would like to have a 14.5" carbine to compare side by side. I guess I'm just not 100% on the 14.5" mid length yet even thugh I haven't had a single issue.
Even though I use an Aimpoint and keep a 3x handy most of the time on the 14.5" or switch to an ACOG TA31 on occasion, I'd likely choose a Specter DR or a quality 1-4 from Nightforce or S&B if I only had one optic and one rifle.
I'd probably stick to a 6921 but so far this BCM mid length has been running strong.
Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~ Paul Howe
