    Gas Port size on Noveske

I've got a 11.5" Noveske barrel with lp gas block. I was just looking at their website for gas port size and found nothing. Would someone tell me what the standard size is? Thanks

Also, for proper breaking in of a stainless barrel, what is the preferred ammo casing? I'm not sure if it matters which ammo I use on a stainless barrel vs a chrome lined. I was going to buy a bunch of Wolf if it wouldn't hurt. Thanks again.

I was looking for the same info for their 10.5" units. No real solid numbers unfortunately. All I could find were these threads:

Worthless information of the day. I bought one of their MK18 uppers and it runs great full auto supressed and unsuppressed with an H buffer. I may play with a H2 to slow down the ROF which is high but awesome.
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

I admit to being rather confused by this recent craze of analyzing gas port sizes.

Can I ask what you hope to do with the information if/when you get it?

Gas port size gives you an idea of what buffer and spring is appropriate for the gun.

Is it any different than analyzing the buffer weight, barrel steel or the method used for shot peening? I might as well ask why you AREN'T interested in such a critical dimension that plays a major factor in how the action operates.

Critical dimensions should be important BEFORE you make a purchase, not after.

Hence why it's a factor in purchasing decisions.

That doesn't really explain anything, but is kind of what I expected the answer to be.

The main reason one should buy a top quality AR barrel like the excellent Noveske barrels is for piece of mind knowing that everything about that barrel is correct. Gas port size is CORRECT on Noveske barrels. Use a H or H2 buffer it'll work with either with 5.56mm NATO ammo.
