The Levang comp also directs the blast/sound forward as well and is much smaller/lighter while also costing much less. Worth a look....

I would suggest the Troy Claymore.

I have one on a 10.5" LMT .556 and it runs great. But, it's all I've ever used on it. I wouldn't change it, except that I have an AAC 762SDN6 en route for MWS and will probably go over to the quiet side with my SBR. I did order an extra AAC Blackout in 1/2" X 28.

IragNinja,
Cool picture...
Just wondering, how'd the camel like it?
Always thought "The Pig" was a neat thing for an "infidel" to have...you know...the bullet has to pass through a "pig" before it hits its intended target...
Reckon you get the ugly virgins because of that??
But maybe it's just me...

I always thought of the pig having no practicality unless you were shooting indoors.
If I was indoors, I'd want either a suppressor, or the KX3. Honestly, I just wouldn't want a bare brake indoors.
We miss you, AC.
We miss you, ToddG.
It definitely does work as advertised
Notable that it's a virtual copy of the a Bulgarian 4-piece FH for an AKSU; basically an upgraded bell-style flash hider originally meant to increase back pressure in order to ensure proper functioning. With an appropriately built AR, one shouldn't need the increase in back pressure for error-free cycling but can still reap the benefits of the re-direction.
It's kinda big though

I bought one for use on my LMT 10.5" SBR a few years ago. Didn't last very long before I sold it though. I figured if I was gonna hang that much weight off my muzzle I might as well add a few more ounces with a sound suppressor instead. However, I do realize not everyone has that option.
I will say I don't see the point of them for most people though. They do nothing to mask flash, and they do nothing to help reduce recoil, most likely they actually increase recoil since they increase the back pressure (unless I'm missing something? Am I?). AFAIK they simply increase back pressure for guns that run poorly in the first place (I'd seriously buy a new upper if this is your reason), and the biggest benefit is redirecting muzzle blast downrange, i.e. Away from the shooter and more importantly the shooter's teammates.
That's just my take on it. I do get the concept, as I've personally had a teammate's M16A2 less than a foot away parallel from the right side of my face. Trust me, that made my shit ring for a good 10 or so minutes into the fight. That happened with just a 20" barrel, too. I can't even imagine a SWAT Officer having the exact same thing happen to him from his teammate's short 10.5" blaster INSIDE of an enclosed structure!![]()
