I... I don't even know what to say. This is awesome. I thought it was photoshopped, but that is too amazing to be anything but real.
Next time you hear the word "FREE", try replacing it with "TAXPAYER-FUNDED".

"War is a terrible thing, but there are things much worse than war. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept by the operation and sacrifice of better men than himself." -Col. Spotlessly clean on a filthy beast, holding up this weapon like you just took it out of a rock and are now king, and wearing the most fragile looking glasses like a wall street banker while in a war zone, and perfectly shaven because only cavedwellers don't shave. I LOVE this pic.

    +1!
I'd hang it over my bed, but then my wife might think I'm getting a little queer.
She might want it for herself though......

So what were we talking about?

As has been pointed out already the Noveske Pig is a copy of the Bulgarian 4 Piece Flash Hider aka HOBO aka Beer Can Brake. I ran a Bulgy 4 Piece on a 12" AKM and the reduction in muzzle blast/flash was impressive. The trade off was the 8.5oz and 3.25" length/1.375" diameter to deal with. It has since been replaced with something nearly as effective but more manageable in size.

Detailed pics of Bulgy 4 Peice: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=82&t=122000

    From Noveske website:
    The Noveske KX3 Flash Suppressor
    US PATENT 7,836,809
    Made in Grants Pass,Oregon USA
    Heat-Treated CM Construction
    Phosphate Finish
    7 ounces
    1.35 inch Dia
    3.28 inch OAL

How exactly does one go about getting a patent for Russian Military equipment anyway?

Specs for the Levang Linear Compensator:
    5.2oz
    2-1/8" (5.3cm) long
    .971" (24.6mm) diameter
    ½"-28 tpi.
    Street price ~$35
Couldn't really find a bad review of the Levang anywhere on the net. I would start there as others have suggested.

Preatty sure its not an exact copy with noveske printed on it. They most likely made improvements and patended it..

The KX3 is the shit on a 7.5" barrel. With a birdcage, the blast in an indoor range was enough for you to forget what county you were in. The Pig sends all that concussion downrange, and makes it feel like shooting a 16" carbine. Plus, the weight of the brake helps minimize muzzle climb a bit.

Not a good reason to use a KX3.
    Someone should tell Noveske.

Agreed. What does it take, 20% difference?

Am I the only one who remembers people getting 24mm-to-1/2x28 adapters and mounting Bulgy 4-piece FH's on AR SBRs?

Noveske sells it because people buy it, Noveske is one of the dudes who builds SBRs right.

100 out of 100 Noveske SBRs don't need a KX3's backpressure to work right...

However, now that 7.5'' guns have been mentioned I understand them, but if you're gonna do that... why not just get a Mk. 18?
    We miss you, AC.
