I shot Rem. 55 FMJ, Federal 193, and a bit of Black Hills 68 match. I used a standard trigger but did a little polishing on the bearing surfaces with a dremel and jewelers rouge. As far as accuracy it was comparable to my BCM's and DD's. I zero at 50, then move to a hundred and come back to 25 and in for drills. There were no surprises, everything ran well, zero malfunctions. I initially used a carbine buffer but switched out to a "H" buffer after about 100 rounds. I liked the very faint PSA logo on the bolt carrier. In light you could barely make it out but it was there. I don't like writing in my carriers and endeavor to shoot enough to wear them off as quick as possible! I mounted an H-1 on it. With the H-2 and MOE it is still light about 6 lbs. 9 ozs. With the Remington extraction was fine with the "H" buffer but I preferred the more positive carbine buffer with the cheap ammo. I usually shoot 193 if I'm buying it and the "H" is about perfect with that set up.

I bought the 14.5 PSA upper with the welded C2 Phantom FH, MPI BCG. I married it to an AeroPrecision lower and put on the foliage green Magpul furniture. I only shot 300 rounds (mostly Prvi version of M193) the other day, but I shot as fast as I could to try to induce a failure. It smoked and got too hot to touch, but never stopped. I bought it as a shooter and beater. For the $580 + transfer, it is well worth it. Remember, I like most of you will not be going to war. I may try to find a course and "play" war, but I don't think I will ever use it in anger. I understand that Aero also makes the uppers for PSA, but I also heard that Spike's makes them. Who really knows, and I don't blame PSA for keeping a secret as long as the product is gtg. I also have a DPMS Panther lite 16 that is about 3 years old. Most people will say "junk", but it has never done anything but go bang for me. Again, I am not going to war (hopefully, not a social war), but if I have to, these will beat throwing stones. Colt, Noveske, LMT are all great, but I don't have deep pockets as most of you. I guess my basic question is this, why do we dissect everything so deeply? Only other thing I need is an H buffer. Wouldn't are time be better spent shooting and honing our skills? Just my .02 cents.

"There is no nice way to arrest a potentially dangerous, combative suspect. The police are our bodyguards; our hired fists, batons and guns. We pay them to do the dirty work of protecting us. The work we're too afraid, too unskilled, or too civilized to do ourselves. We expect them to keep the bad guys out of our businesses, out of our cars, out of our houses, and out of our faces. We just don't want to see how its done."

Personally, I would buy any stripped lower that was in spec and cheapest. I think it's pretty much established that the stripped lower industry is a commodity and has little/no effect on reliability.

Then throw in the quality lower build kit of your choice, and pin a BCM upper and bolt onto that.

Actually, while finger-banging my DD upper at home with PSA premium BCG, I am starting to lean toward PSA BCG's as well, based on availability as well as quality. But that is a "time will tell" kind of thing.

    I put together a 100% BCM 16" midlength for well under $1000.
Shop the EE here and on TOS and it can be done.

Why would you want that barrel profile?
