Because they are not complete idiots, that's why.

In general, most of the folks who frequent this forum who know something about ARs, generally know it, and do not depend upon mythology, hype or looks in their carbines.

PSA, I think, understands that what they say here will be put under intense scrutiny, and if they are smart, they will let their product speak for itself. There is also the fact that some of their product is less than top tier, which I assume they offer for those who want that kind of thing, and refusing to get involved in our discussions allows them to avoid addressing those things.

I don't need PSA to explain anything. In fact, their stuff is either good or it isn't. Whenever a business tries to explain why their stuff is crappy, or their marketing hyperbole is off base, they lose. Just look at the latest posts by Huldra Arms or Anderson Manufacturing to see exactly how much damage a company can do to itself once they allow their business model to face public evaluation by informed individuals.
This is truth. I and most other members here will not take their or any other manufacturers word for it that their stuff is the greatest thing since sliced bread. On the other hand if they bare their souls here and they really are good to go, well then they make a buttload of money. I have a lot more faith in PSA's AR components after this vetting. I will become more than an ammo customer of theirs eventually.

First of all, I'm not an "operator", but am looking for a decent priced guns that are going to work. All this discussion (?) about PSA uppers is just speculation. Let's get some reports from people who have tried them out and have something real to say. Almost nobody in this thread actually knows what they are talking about as they aren't "hands on". Can we get a moderator involved here instead of nothing but speculation and prejudice? I don't blame PSA for staying off this board given the predominate mindset.
I really want a real thorough experience report on them. Anything else is bullsh!t.
    Just my $.02.

As I poster previously in another thread I bought a 14.5 MOE with a pinned on Phantom along with one of their bolt and carriers. when it all arrived I looked it over and decided that it looked good and all appeared to be ready to go. I had assembled a PSA lower several months ago an put them together and went to the range. After about 200 rounds there were no issues. The next week I took it to SWAT training anf let all the guys put rounds through it. After 500 rounds no problems. It's not got about 1000 rounds through it and I'm impressed, because it works and works well.

I ended up about $720.00 in it. I've got DD, BCM, and Noveske's but wanted to try one out at that price point that appeared to be a big cut above the other low dollar choices, most of which I flat out won't spend my money on. Quite frankly I'd much prefer to carry it on duty than the issued Bushy I'm currently issued.

Time will tell. It took ages for people go get the fact that spikes was making good stuff, but the fact eventually sunk in. If PSA's stuff is good, it will become known.

Boy the price difference sure has sunk between junk and good anymore. I wonder what higher end outfits are going to come up with to justify more cash next?

I don't think you understand what's involved with developing a good reputation. Any one person, or group of persons cannot just go out, test out a whole line of carbines and declare them "good to go." It takes time and a lot of reporting to get a good fix on whether they are good for hard use. Until that time, conservatism and skepticism based on price, hyperbole and analogous experience is what we have to go on. And no, those things are not "bullshit"; it's actually called wisdom.

I think you are absolutely dead wrong on that. The price difference between good and junk is narrower than ever. A new Colt 6920 is under $900, and you can get a used 6520 for $700. You can easily piece together either a DD or BCM for $850 - $950 as a build.

Bushmaster, RRA and Stag are charging up to $1200 for their shitty product, on the other hand.

I would suggest you actually do some research before spouting off such nonsense. Really.

mmm... no. I meant the price diff between junk and good is smaller than ever, as in you don't have to spend $1500+ to have a well made AR. Whatdya think I meant? lol

I don't even consider silly overpriced stuff like RRA/Stag or whatever, that's idiot gunshow crap.

Really? Is that just using a bcm or DD barrel or all their parts? Seems a bit low. A BCM lower is around $400 without ffl charges.

I've got to disagree with you on Spikes. I don't want to get into another one of those so will just agree to disagree with you.

It would be unlike us as a species to all agree about a thing unanimously. And differing opinions and expectations drive creation and innovation. I'm ok with that.
