Hmm, that's a VERY interesting upper there. Even a melonited gas tube? Huhh, interesting. And they say that the barrel is capable of 1/2 MOA with quality ammo.

I have a buddy that wants to get into the AR game and I think I "may" point him in this direction. Maybe. I need to check this against a BCM CHF upper.

We've progressed from "just as good as" and "paying for a pony on the side" to even the lower end companies savagely fighting over who produces the bestest, uber-quality parts and weapons.

I couldn't care about the hyperbole; this is just cool in my book.
Spike's "lower end"? [stupid comment removed - sorry, 120mm]
If I weren't perfectly satisfied with non-CHF barrels I'd be considering one of these.

1/2 MOA out of a CHF barrel? I question this...

Looks like an otherwise great setup.

Yes, they were lower end. At one time.

But look how they've aggressively improved their product. And still, their prices are fairly reasonable, and definitely come in at the lower end of the serious carbine category on price.

The point isn't to bash Spike's or PSA, it's to point out that even less expensive carbine manufacturers are trying hard to compete on quality. And that is a good thing.

Interesting to note it was sort of implied that it was AIM that requested this upper, and it will be exclusive to them. And the 14.5 version is due in three weeks or so.

That was originally made for their 5.45 uppers to help resist corrosion. Maybe they had a lot of them in stock, or they just threw them in the CHF uppers since everything else is different from their usual uppers.

I'm sorta surprised at including the NB BCG, surely that is running the price up. Might have been AIM's request though.

I've been considering one of their dissy uppers and when I saw the melonite tube I looked into it. From what I understand they've been using those on all their uppers for a while now.
