2 inch adustable vented gas block

I have been looking to find something like this, but can not find one that suits my taste. So, I have designed one myself and plan on producing them. What I would like is your input on how much of a demand there would be for these. I have designed mine using the figure "8" configuration, two inches long with a long sloping front end. Is anyone else looking to buy something like this? What Materials do you prefer, Aluminum or Steel? What coating would you prefer, phosphate, black oxide? What price range do you think would be fair for a gas block with those materials?

I have discussed this with a manufacturing company and am contemplating having a batch of these made if the demand is there.

    Thank you for your input.

    ??????????????

What? I think we need more information and detail. Pictures are required. How does it adjust? What was your purpose for designing this? How is your gas block different than what is currently available? What advantages does your block offer?

    See my point?

If you think aluminum is even a remotely suitable material for a gas block, then I would say not interested.

Not a troll, simply gathering data on how much of an interest is out there. The block will be adjusted via a set hex screw on the side. Adjustments can be made so that only the gas needed to cycle properly and reliably is used and the rest is vented forward and down. You could adjust for say, using a more powerful round, or using a silencer, or even close the vent for using less powerful rounds.

I only mention aluminum as an alternative for a lighter block, would titanium be worth the substantial increase in cost? I wish to manufacture something reliable and cost effective but if the demand is there for a higher end gas block of Titanium, I will make it.

I will try to get my drawings scanned and posted by tomorrow. Please understand these are just rough drawings and not blueprints. Proportion is off.

Here's the problem with you're talking about....

First of all adjustable gas blocks always have inherant issues. The adjustment screws seize and usually they always fail. So they're low in demand. Then why do you want to vent gas out of the gas block? That gas already goes out the end of the barrel. Why are you trying to make it more complicated and vent it more? You're over thinking all of this!
