    AR Camera Mount

This is what happens when I get a new toy and get bored. Bought this little Kodak PlaySport HD camcorder a while back. Shock proof, waterproof and dust proof. Mostly bought it for the pool/beach to take vids and pics of my kid. Started wondering how shock proof it is and got an idea.

An old scope mount, some 1/8" steel bar stock and a wing nut....half hour in the garage and then some black paint and I come out with this:

The mount is rock solid. Here's a pic from the camera

And a quick vid, just checking it out and making sure there is not interference from the mount.

Just to be clear, I didn't make this to be tacticool, or with any serious intentions for it other than seeing what kind of shots I can get at the range, especially when running drills. The rig will only be mounted to the rifle on occasion when I am at the range. Not sure when I'll make it to the range next, but I look forward to seeing how it holds up and I'll post in here with any good video that I get.

Get a patent on that and sell them you could make some dough with it. I'd buy one. lol

Great Idea. Wish I had a garage to waste time in lol

I'll throw mine in here too. There's a cat on here who made a slick Key Fob camera rail mounted gizmo too.

Now I feel like going home and bending some aluminum.

I thought about going with aluminum because it would have been much easier to shape, but I was afraid it might flex too much and make the camera bounce a little. Probably not really a big concern with as short as it is, but the steel worked well. Somehow I managed to get my bends right the first time....I was surprised. Just clamped it in a bench vice and leaned on it. Small sledge hammer to finish the bend, then a drill press for the holes and a bench grinder to round off the corners.

Shoot! My velcro mounted dealio up above bounces all over... but the videos still come out fine when viewed in real time.
