    My Latest (Noveske SBR w/pics)!

    Hey guys,

Just finished up a build with input from this board, and thought y'all would like to see it.

    Here are the main specs:

Noveske 10.5" upper with VIS and switchblock
    BCM Form 1 lower
EoTech EXPS 3-0 (I chose this due to FOV concerns with the PVS-14)
    AAC M4-2000 Suppressor
ITT AN/PVS-14 with TNVC TM-14 mount
    SureFire M952V IR Illuminator/Light

    Pics!:

    Her nighttime attire:

Here are some pics through the PVS-14. Keep in mind, these were taken at about 11:00 at night, and I live out in the country, so believe me, it was dark. The camera doesn't quite do the image justice. It is an amazing little device. The first time I looked through a Gen 3 NV device, I knew I had to have one!

You have great taste! So, how does it shoot?
May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.

I just got it all put together this weekend, and I haven't had it out yet. This is my first SBR, so I'm hoping it runs well right out of the box, and doesn't require any tuning.

I am using a BCM lower, but with an H2 buffer like Noveske uses in their complete rifles, so I hoping no hiccups with the gas system. I'm also anxious to see how the switchblock performs.

The weight as shown in the first picture is 7.8 lbs.

The PVS-14, light, and suppressor add 2.8 lbs.

So, total weight fully equipped is 10.6 lbs.

What do you think about having the switchblock exposed like that? Any concerns? I have a VIS carbine length rail and have considered this setup, but don't know if I like it exposed...

Looks awesome btw...this will pretty much be my same setup by the end of the year except it will have an Aimpoint M3 and Ranger 2 suppressor that will live full time on whatever 10.5" setup I run.

Definately a relevant question. I had a hard time deciding between this set up and the Noveske rail, which is longer, has a cut out for the switchblock, and seems like it would provide more protection.

I decided to go this route because I have always wanted to try out a VIS upper. I convinced myself that the standard M4 has the gas block fully exposed in the front sight post. I guess the difference is that on a front sight post, there are no moving parts like with the switchblock. But, they are both pinned in place, and the switchblock seems pretty sturdy.

In the end, I decided it wasn't worth worrying about. I figure if Noveske puts their name on it, they have confidence in the part, and I should too.

    YMMV...

Yeah the VIS is great, that's what I have on my Noveske 14.5" with FSB. And I completely agree that I trust what Noveske does. I doubt I will ever buy from another manufacturer as far as ARs go. I have been considering one of their MK18's or cutting my barrel down to 10.5" and staying with the VIS...we'll see.

Looking forward to your review of the switchblock when you get a chance to shoot it!

Don't know if you've looked at their website lately, but Noveske has their MK18 upper with the tan Daniel Defense rail on sale for $980. Or $1,655 for the complete rifle. I kind of like the tan, actually.

It is under their "Specials and Overruns" section.

    Pick it up!

Very nice OP! The night vision pics are especially impressive IMO.
