    Glock reset vs DCEAK

Is the reset with the DCEAK as short as a Glock? I know its not as tactile.

Depends on what components you're using.

The reset is significantly lengthened with a - connector versus the factory 5.5.

    Reset distance is vastly overplayed.

Lets put it this way, the DCAEK has a very short reset BUT because of the pre travel in the system you will need to learn how to shoot to reset.

So when you arrive at reset, with the DCEAK, there is some travel before the break? Please excuse my ignorance.

Although the DCEAK somewhat improves the M&P reset, the RAM makes the reset much more positive. The install is easy, chronicled on the APEX videos, and can be done on any M&P that does not have a thumb safety.

I like the fact that there is no travel once arriving at reset with a Glock. The break is right there at reset. Its what i like most about the Glock trigger action.

So there is pre travel at reset with the DCEAK, as well as with the 1st pull?

You're confusing pre travel with creep.

There is no creep in the DCAEK, only a slight roll to the break.

If you're shooting to reset your break point is essentially your reset point, or close to, same as the Glock or any other semi auto pistol for that matter.

This is why shooting to reset is deemed important. The less your finger has to move in order to break a shot theoretically the faster your splits will be.

Gotcha. I recently acquired a P30 with the Graygun's reduced reset. The reset is much shorter, but does have "creep" before the break at reset. This creep slows me down, when riding the reset.

The Sig SRT action, like a Glock does not have any creep at reset either.

I find that the DCAEK reset is shorter than the Glock on my M&P compared to the G22. I also have an Apex RAM on my M&P and still find the Glock with the stock 5.5 connector to have a much more tactile reset.

On the M&P, I've found that the reset is so short that you can let out past the reset point, and still have a very short distance between the reset and the next shot, so it works for me. On the other hand, with glocks, i prefer to shoot to the reset, because the reset is/feels longer.

I wish I could compare side-to-side but my M&P is back at S&W for some warranty work.

I've got the DCAEK on my M&P. The first pull has some take up, but the reset is short with no creep. In fact, it's so short that I'm still training to know where the reset is. Missing it causes creep back to the break point.

Compared to my friend's Glocks, my trigger system feels much softer on first pull, quicker/shorter reset and lighter on the reset. They all agree, but stick with Glock anyway. Crazy Glock cult!
