    New Glock tomorrow

I'm about to use my GSSF coupon which entitles me 1 Glock per year at LEO pricing. My local gun shop has an RTF2 G19 with vertical serrations which I already own 2 of. These are my favorite Glock's and getting harder to come by. However I don't have a G26 yet. The local gun shop has either a Gen3 or Gen4 G26 for the same price. Is there any reason to not own a G26? I have no problem concealing a G19 with my daily attire so this point is moot. But the G26 seems to be calling my name.

Many will tell you that a 19 is better for CCW than a 26. I own both, and can say that the 26 conceals better than the 19 in every aspect except AIWB. The shorter grip combined with a forward canted holster conceals very well. And with 10-13rds in one magazine, you should have no problem defending yourself if you do your part.

Go with the 26! You already have two 19s. You'll love the versatility of the smaller pistol. Many decide that they no long need to make the 19 their EDC.

I do the G23/27 combo and find myself carrying the 27 most often. We have very high temps here and it's just plain easy to put the little 27 AIWB under a T-shirt and shorts. Keep a high cap mag in your offside pocket and it's a tough package to beat.

My first handgun was a 26. I never had any issues with it. However, the only reason I bought it instead of a 19 then was because it was 2002. A few years ago I let the 26 go and replaced it with a 19. I carry the 26 just as I carry the 19 now strong side IWB holster. The 19 conceals as well and is easier/faster/more secure on the draw. If it were not for the AWB I would have likely never owned a 26 at all. They are still great guns.

I'd recommend using a proper magazine pouch instead. If you ever do need to get to that spare mag in a hurry you'll be really happy you were using the proper equipment rather than trying to get a magazine out of a pocket, possibly in a bad position where it won't come out, or pulling out a lint infested mag.

I own both the G19 and G26, both are Gen 3, the G26 is a fantastic size for very discreet carry. When carrying the G26 I use either a G19 or G17 magazine as my spare for a few more rounds.

I was replying to someone who recommended putting a magazine in their pocket, not a pocket mag pouch. I would still rather have a belt mounted magazine pouch due to the fact that in a crouch, kneeling or many other awkward positions the mag will be more difficult to retrieve digging in your pocket than a belt mounted position.

Try practicing reloads from a belt mounted position and from a pocket pouch and tell me which one's easier and faster.

I think you should tell me the name of your local gun shop so I can snag that G19RTF2 (been looking for one to no avail for a while), or trade me one of yours for a G34 with Warren/Sevigny's.

Thanks for the input. I ended up with the RTF G19 only because they are becoming harder to find. I'll pick up a G26 later. Now my dilemma becomes 3rd Gen or 4th Gen.

I have a late manufacture 3rd gen and it's great. To be safe, I'd go for an early manufacture gen 3
