    This rifle is still going strong, though I replaced the Redfield with a Leupold VariX-I 4-12x40 with LR duplex. That 40-year-old Redfield glass just sucks compared to even second rate modern optics.

    I haven't shot it more than maybe 40-60 rds, but it's taken a couple of mule deer at 100 and 300 yards. The groups on paper with Black Hills 175gr Sierras are around 1/2 to 3/4 MOA, and ringing steel plates out to 600 yards is a breeze. I have a 300 yard zero, but holdovers beyond 600 are pretty tricky.

    Nice little rifle that is filling its "deer rifle" niche well. This thread coming to life again tempts me to take it out of the safe and put a few rounds through it.
