You'd probably sell more of the front sight bases than the rifles if you could get them separate. Too bad another distributor has the market locked up on 10.5 and 11.5 6940 SBR's. You could always see if they'd be willing to produce non-monolithic rifles/uppers with the folding fsb.

FYI, Colt LE6921's are California legal if they are sold with a muzzle device pinned to 16.1, or with a 16 inch upper, unlike the 6920's, or anything with "sporter" or "ar-15" on it. If the price is similar to what you get the 6920's for, you could do some serious business.

I was thinking $1280 might work well.

    Thoughts on that price?

Sporter model. The LE line is on the way out an soon everything will be a sporter.

So no more silly "LE ONLY" on the side of their guns.

Really, you think so? I'd thought the fsb was something many had complained about on the 6940. I've never seen what the problem is, but then the hardest use it sees from me is classes, etc.

As for pricing, I think you'd sell quite a few at $1280 Grant. I bought my LE6940 at 1489 and felt (and still feel) it was a decent value--though that was prior to the introduction of the SP-line that knocked a few hundred off the typical 6920 and 6940 prices.

$1299 is what I paid for the my LE6940 in October 2009 and prices have pretty much floated at or just above that mark. I would think anything between $1299-$1349 is very much reasonable and along the line of what other large volume dealers are asking.

    Hi Grant:

I purchased a 6940 from Phoenix when they first came out at the LEO price, which was $1325. I agree that $1280 would work very well, and would opine that that you would sell quite a few at that price point.

    Best regards,

I think that would work. But check GunBroker and all the big (and some small online dealers). I am thinking the lowest price I was on the 6940 was around $1320. You will get the sales regardless from those familiar with you. But the challenge is to make those comfortable with other dealers think hard over $40-75 for the same gun. I think it is a reasonable strategy-just have to get the $ right.

I've always thought that the colt monolithic upper, with a KAC/PRI/Colt folding sight would make a badass Mk. 18.

    Grant, $1280, would be great.

$1280 is a price I can live with I think and I hope it will get people more interested in this rifle.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

That is a great price Grant, and I would have no problem recommending that. Good luck with sales.
