Regurgitation of AR myths making them "facts"

One of the evils of the internet that never seize to baffle me is is the indiscriminate regurgitation of facts and assumptions, which by endless repetition appear to become undisputed fact.
For our purpose, case in point - the incessant blabbering about the weak points of the DI system...(key baby crying sound)..."whaaaawhaaa....the foul gasses polluting the rifle and heating up, nay, destroying that BCG....virtually ruining it.....whaaawhaaaa....."
So really, who has ever take the time to dump say, 2-3 mags real fast....then take out the BCG?
Another myth clearly taken out of rotation is the "need for clean".
Filthy 14. Need I say more?
I have some ammo, a bit of time, and a couple mid-length AR's waiting to be put to work perhaps take out a few more myths. I'll even build one for the occasion if the right amount/type of bullshit comes along.... Team America, **** Yeah, I just need the excuse!
Anyone care to share some "undisputed" facts and see them tested?

Using the magazine as a monopod from the prone will induce feed malfunctions...

A dry AR will function better due to less dust being attracted...

The gas rings must be offset to function...

The AR must be kept spotless to function...

I have a friend that swears by running his AR dry. We live in almost a desert climate, LOTS of dust where we shoot....its amusing to watch.

The bottom of his BCG has a nice razor sharp edge to show he uses no lube

Less lube is better in the desert.

That why he has stovepipes on every mag? Not to mention has rounds not seating

I dont want to argue the "less" lube point with you...he dont use any, and has malfunctions.

    I still run mine wet.

Military "knowledge" at its finest. I remember having the offset gas ring question pop up during my E5 board.

    ========================================

Here's a good one for you,

If someone is shot in the shoulder with an AR's 5.56 NATO round, the bullet will start tumbling and come out their foot.
Generally, depending on the "fact" teller, they will state that the bullet goes in some place and it will exit on some remote location of an extremity on the opposite side of the body.

Good luck finding volunteers to test this one.
