The AR "jams" unless kept absolutely spotless. I hear this all the time, and it's total malarkey. Unless they're referring to the rifle gettin' down to Motown.

Here's a good one for you,

If someone is shot in the shoulder with an AR's 5.56 NATO round, the bullet will start tumbling and come out their foot.
Generally, depending on the "fact" teller, they will state that the bullet goes in some place and it will exit on some remote location of an extremity on the opposite side of the body.

Good luck finding volunteers to test this one.

There's a couple of big fat wild hogs in close proximity ****ing up an orange-grove. They are volunteering for that test. Will keep you posted.

I like the old Mattel myth, along with 'filin' down that pin to make it full auto'.

It's funny though - whenever I open up the receiver and ask Joe Blow to point out exactly which pin should be filed, he gets a look on his face like I just asked him to solve a trig problem using integration by parts. Hi-****in'-larious.

Oh **** yeah, I love pretending to believe them and doing a whole "Wow really? Here show me where to file!" routine.

Rubbing CLP on the barrel of an M4 will take the "bluing" off.

Colt, BCM, and all other overpriced companies use the same parts as DPMS and Bushmaster. They just charge you more for the same thing.

Ya, that's a good one. Last weekend at the range, two guys behind me who didn't think I could hear them through my earpro:

Guy 1: "what are those? .223's?
    Guy 2: "yeeeup"

    I was shooting federal m193 -_-

    A couple of favorites.

    1. Filing down the firing pin is how you make it go full auto.

    2. You need an auto sear to make it shoot full auto.

    3. Milspec means lowest bidder and quality.
