Did you ever go back and explain what you were talking about in that thread?

AR Myth: "You cannot zero an AR in 5.56/.223 at 50 yards. It is physically impossible."

I was wondering about that too when reading it the other day, was slightly confused...

As for the myths, my grandfather is partial to one previously mentioned in the thread, "The 5.56 bullet was designed to take three men out of the battle, by wounding one, so it takes two to carry him away."

I pretty much face palm at that one.

My God I just saw this...squinting into an eotech with the front sight on the side. Wow. I like how the article cites piston ARs as the end-all in terms of ending malf problems

Did they say malfunctions or jams?

I did the same until one fine day I push/pulled on a tactical reload. On the next drill, the mag fell to the deck.

Did I mention it was in front of Pat Rogers? "I must be a bad instructor. Here it is 1520 on TD2 and we haven't covered loading 28 rounds in a 30 round magazine..."

    Moosecock moment.

    Never again.

In my experience, there is no currently available "30rd" magazine that can be counted on, across production, to positively lock in without extra (excess) effort when loaded with 30rds. There are some that are better than others, and examples that will. But none that I would count on to do so by name/type.

Wow, I did the exact same thing this year at Brady. Quite embarrassing after I bad put so much practice into it.
