I think for most defensive carbine purposes, yes. A 14.5-16in barrel (or less) is much more maneuverable inside a building and around obstacles/cover.

However, I too am currently building an A2/A4 clone. I love the smooth shooting rifle system and there is something "classic" about shooting these longer guns.

Change any of those conditions and my sentiments change drastically.
Agreed... except STEEL instead of cardboard.

Sounds like a killer build. I did a similar build recently based on a WOA 20" fluted SDMR barrel, LMT BCG, 12" DD Lite Rail, A2 front sight & Troy rear flip sight, JP trigger, A2 stock, & a Bushnell Elite 3-12x44 FFP tactical scope in an AD mount. That mofo shoots the lights out.

I love holding a full size infantry rifle because it reminds me that I am a real man.

With a bipod and a 12x scope, I was able to group 1" at 235 yards and hold within a 10" plate at 500 yards with my 16" Centurion Arms barrel, using Hornady Match 75gr BTHP. Good enough for me.

I've carried a full length rifle since day 1 in the corps, so I guess you could say I'm a fan...not to say I would mind if they kicked an M4 my way, but those are all for the Army

    Hello,

I actually prefer my COLT A2 Style Rifles over my COLT Carbines.

I'd rather beat a bad guy to death with my Browning High Power, than shoot him dead with a plastic pistol.
