just bought a Glock 36, looking for an extended slide release

So I just got a Glock36 for me and my lady, and we would like to get an extended slide release for it. Which one should be get and how do we install it?
I've seen that some glocks come from the factory with an extended slide release, and that's the one want.
    thanks guys.

Glock doesn't make one for the G36. Glockmeister makes one, but it isn't worth a shit. Stick with the stock version...you'll be glad you did...

The slide lock for the G36 (Glock part # SP01788) is different than the slide locks for other models due to the G36's geometry. Glock does not offer one. Below is a few aftermarket companies who do:

For a carry pistol, I prefer not use use extended slide stops ( I also have big hands and can utilize the stock unit with no issues).

Installation should be the same as any other glock – as far as I know, as I don’t own a G36. Check here for detailed instructions.

Don't be too surprised if your slide locks back after every round or two...

And why would it do that?

For some people the extended slide stop interferes with a high grip, and either causes failure to lock back on an empty mag, or intermittent slide lock on a non empty mag.

I thought I'd need one on mine, but it has turned out not to be the case.

now, an extended mag release would be nice.

You can use a standard extended mag release from Glock and then dremel the edge of the follower catch away just a tiny bit to make it work.
