    How fast things can change...

First off Im not one to sit here and ponder events that have basically zero chance of happening or some oddball theory about the end of the world.

When I look to the future I first look at the past, and other civilizations that have come and gone. What mistakes did they make that we are making? What changes happen, and how to they effect the people? How a once grand civilization can turn to ruins in a mere couple of decades, and be a complete 180.

I saw a link on TOS to these collection of photos, and if you were not told where they were from you could easily mistake them for any 1st world country of the past. Now things are completely different. The world changes very quickly, and I don't think we are immune to that. We have changed drastically in the last 50-60 years. I thing we are on the verge of a split. Not tomorrow but easily possible within my lifetime. We just have come to the point in this country where there is too much of split between the two factions of power in this country. Im not talking about the politicians but of the people. The same could be said for Afghanistan as seen in these pictures. Not too long ago, with a lifetime, they danced into the modern world. The west was there helping them. Within 3 decades, they were ruled by hardline Islamists who stoned women to death for petty "crimes" or whatever you want to call it. This has happened to numerous socities in the past where the core values are suddenly stripped, and what was normal just a short time ago gets you the bayonet or bullet to the head. History is literally filled of such events. In 1930 NO ONE would have said in 25 years over 150 million would be killed in WW2, gas chambers in Europe, famine in Russia, Mao, ect.

If you don't think it can happen here our own past is littered with death and government totalitarianism. Could you ever imagine a campaign today to rid Alaska of the last indians or rounding up muslims to be put in camps? But it did happen (in a different time to different people), and at a time when the government had a lot less power, and a military a lot less advanced than it is today. We don't know who is going to be elected in the coming years, and what Congress is going to look like.

Don't let your comfort today lead you into a false sense of invisioning comfort 10 years from now, 20 years, 30 years, ect. Things can change rapidly, and when they do tens of millions die. Our city on the hill is having the guts ripped out of it, and one thing or another is going to come to a head. Its displayed itself in various forms in history. So as I said if you want to see the future look at the past. Its not an conspiracy theory or delusional thinking when all these things have happened before. History repeats itself, and we never learn from our mistakes. History is not interesting, and many people do not want to confront what has happened because its so horrific. Really, looking back, history is full of human suffering. Very few of us lived lives anyone today would want to live in. Basically, at any point in the past, there has been a genocide or a build up to one all the time. Even European history is full of conquest and defeat.

Well said man. History doesn't always repeat itself but it most certainly rhymes.

I saw a movie not too long ago that gave a very good analogy about our current situation: Lets say your on the titanic and you know for a fact its going to sink and you want to warn people. You are likely to run into 3 types of individuals. 1. There are going to be those who will listen but will be in such a state of shock and disbelief that they will be unable to do anything. 2. There are going to be those who will listen, accept what you said and then ask how to build a lifeboat to survive the ordeal. 3. There are going to be those who are still under the false assumption that the titanic is un****ing sinkable, and will likely laugh in your face.

At this point in the game you should focus more on finding the individuals who are trying to build lifeboats
Its only until we have nothing that we're free to do anything

Agreed. The differences between us as people are monumental, and the tension has been building for years. We're all sniffing the wind these days! All that's needed is the wrong chain of events to set things off. These chain of events, whatever they end up being, will either pull us together, or will be the match that lites the fuse. I'm thinking the fuse gets lit since the differences are core values.

I'm not sure what the outcome will look like. In the 1860's civil war was the north vs. the south. Clearly defined. Here we're intermingled together, in every corner of this country. Even good ole Texas and the south has it's share of libtards. It will certainly be interesting to see how it eventually shakes out. But I do think something along those lines is coming.

That is so true. Right now there is no way to tell what will happen but something is going to happen. It is inevitable. It is like a marriage, where two people grow apart. They will eventually have to come to terms with it. There will have to be a confutation. If done sooner then later it can be done in a civilized manner; if done later it will be a knock-down-drag-out fight. I feel that we are no longer in the sooner phase.

I have always been one to believe in history repeating itself, and things changing. But that link with those pictures are a great example. When you first look at those pictures you would think they where taken in the US or maybe Western Europe.

I think most people realize on some level that this country is on a collision course with reality. The real question is whether the people with the will to stop the boat, will have the ability to take the helm away from those that are busy pouring on the power.

Don't think too much. Just buy goodies at Wal-Mart and give Michael Bay money so he can make more movies. Enjoy this shit while it lasts. We will eventually have to pay for all the Indian round ups, special camps, and the Opium war. BUT HEY... until then... "WEEEEEEEEEE!!"

Better go buy some more guns.
