    Question about a bushmaster bolt

    Hello Everyone, This will be my first post here So first off I just wanted to say hello and that I have really enjoyed reading all the material you guys have posted. My question is on my Bushmaster bolt I purchased a few months ago I noticed that the letters CM were stamped into the bolt. To my understanding thats the markings of Colt/Martin Marietta is that correct?

    Question

    Bushmaster bolts are not made by Colt. A lot of B.M. bolt owner's wish that they were though.

    C.M., I am guessing Chrome Moly, not Colt. M.H.O.

    OK, today i got a Bravo Co bolt carrier group in the mail. The bolt is stamped CM then on top of the stamp it is laser etched MP. Can someone enlighten me and save me a phone call?

    My Colt bolts all have either "MPC" "MPFC" "MPXC" etc

    My Bushy and Stag have no markings.

    My BCM has "MP"

    I thought it was a CMT marking, leaving off the T.

    Its alright 556 I would be confused to if my BCM bolt had the same markings on it. My other Bushmaster doesn't have any markings on it so I figured maybe Bushmaster is finally trying to improve there quality to what it was like back in the day! The only reason I bought the bolt from BM was because i had a 50$ gift certificate from BM and its only going to be used as backup on one of my riflles. I was just curious to know in case it might actuallly be a good bolt that I could use on one of my serious guns?

    It's probably a CMT bolt.

    Look HERE under "Forge Marks"

    CM = Colt / Martin Marietta
    E=mc^2+/-3db
