    Kimber Warrior question

I was perusing my G&A SF Combat Tactics (Aug-Sept issue) and was reading the article "the Few, the Proud, the Kimber" by GP Johnston. Here's an interesting quote:
"Featuring the same stainless steel match grade barrel, the rest of the Warrior's internals are also identical to those in the Det 1, but unlike the USMC pistol, the Warrior comes with Kimber's firing pin safety."
HUH? I thought one of the bennies of the Warrior was that it was a Kimber pistol that did not have a passive firing pin safety. I had read the article when I purchased the mag but I missed that part. Any Warrior owners care to comment?

My Warrior does not have the firing pin safety.

I have heard and read that the earlier models of the Warrior did...ETA: hence I don't know if its true as I have no first hand experience

Did we turn in to The View or something?

The Kimber Warrior is based on Kimber's Series I pistols. Which are like Colt's Series 70 in regards to the number, and type, of safeties.

    Really? Source?

I know there are some Warrior II's, which are a product of Kimber wanting to sell to CA, but I've never seen, or read until now, about a Warrior having the FPS.

The Warrior's barrel is not stainless and the Kimber website makes no such claims. Mine does not have the firing pin safety. I also believe that a stock Warrior shows little resemblance to the Det 1 gun.

    SHI -

Don't remember where I heard that exactly (TOS, the gun show, etc.) I wasn't trying to state that that was indeed a fact.

It's close, but falls down on some pretty major things, like the Dawson vs. integral light rail.

No problem, I am always trying to gleen info, so I would have been eager to run down a "rare Warrior" out there.

Until recently, I had no idea that Kimber had decided to produce the Warrior with the Series II safeties in place for California.

Though I am damn near sure that the Warrior has never had Series II safeties onboard.

The TLE/RL II had them, as well as an external extractor.
