Pic Request: Surefire FA556K Flash Hider

Looking for pics of the Surefire FH556-212A flash hider (for the FA556K (short) suppressor) mounted on a 10.5", 11.5", 14.5" (M4), or 16" (M4) barrel.

Any pics would be greatly appriciated.

I have looked at several sources and come up with a few different answers....What is the overall barrel length (length of barrel and suppressor) of the Surefire FA556K when mounted to a 11.5" barrel?

    Thanks

    Hey Jeff,

Here is one on my Noveske 12.5" Crusader. I'd have to break it out for you to measure OAL if you'd like.

Good looking rig you got. Despite that Surefire product being absolutely sexy, how would you rate it's performance over a standard end?

I'd like to eventually get a shorty Surefire suppressor so obviously I would need it then, but would contemplate purchasing the FH sooner if it offered any other advantages.

    cohiba,

Thanks for the pics, greatly appriciated.

Could you get a measurement for me using the following method: With the Surefire K can attached and the bolt *closed*. Could you stick a cleaning rod down the barrel and tell me what the length of the can barrel with the can attached. It would be greatly appriciated.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Thank you. The SF is superbly made and finished like jewelry. More importantly of course, it works and works very well as a FH and is fully the equal of a Vortex.

I am coming up with approx. 16 inches based on a LMT MRP 10.5 with the Surefire 556K attached using a cleaning rod through the bore...Not an exact measurement...What are you trying to accomplish??? Wally

I did detailed tests with a camera on manual exposure, and then had software measure the luminosity of the flash by summing the brightness of the pixels. The Surefire had as much as 25% more flash than a Vortex. No doubt if you had certain ammo with flash inhibitors or a longer barrel it would appear the same to the eye under non-controlled circumstances -- but I would not consider it an equal-performance flash suppressor to a Smith Vortex.

Really nice looking rifle. What front sight is that?
