My thoughts exactly, regarding the grip tape. I've got a good chunk lying around from doing the slide of my M&P and will update when I get in squared away.

One thing I've been looking for and found in the MFR is there isn't the clamp and helicoil/screw section in the way. This may not be a big deal to me but it's ugly and will sometimes stop the gun from fully hinging and opening up on the hinge pin.

DD needs to get some mountable QD studs and something for grip and texture or some thin/lightweight snap on rail panels.

    2 Things.

    1) I wish they had a very low pro QD sling attachment. I'm sure DD is probably working on a QD attachment device without having to put a whole section of rail and using a QD Rail attachment. I wonder what that's going to look like.

    2) I was always under the impression that the DD MFR would be even slimmer than the Troy TRX. I am embarassed that I don't remember where I got it from but I thought that the DD MFR would have an even smaller circumference than the Troy Extreme TRX. I don't remember where I saw the stats but I swear to God I saw it that way. It wasn't by much, but it was maybe somewhere in the ballpark of 1.76" vs. 1.74". If anyone has the measurements officially from the manufacturers, I'd like to see them. That being said, the OP has shown that the Troy is slightly narrower....at least in his measurement.

My guess would be like the VTAC/Troy where a small one is screwed on at one of the slots.

How do they differ in terms of weight?

It looks as if that is the 11" VTAC which weighs in at 11.2 oz w/ nut. I'm seeing the DD MFR 12" weighs in at 12.2 oz. with each 3" rail section coming in at 1.1 oz. but that's just the manufacture specs.

Looks like an nice product, as can be expected from DD. I wonder when DD will start offering LW uppers with MFR installed, that'll make me very tempted

They are offering standard weight uppers with the MFR (DDM4V7) and will do semi-custom URGs provided the parts are in stock. Just give 'em a call.
