Good looking rifle! Can't wait to get my hands on the MFR rail when mine comes in.

I tried out a MFR rail recently for a 6.5 BR build and I'll add my impressions.

Subjectively the build seems very solid, very strong. The tube locks tightly to the new style nut, and with no rail sections attached, it is very light. Looks goods too.

However the first problem encountered was that this is very specifically built for covering the gas block of carbine or midlength systems. It was mistaken listed as rifle length on the Brownells site and it was turning up under rifle length searches on the Daniels site. The rail is too short for a rifle length gas system by about .5" This seems to be a mistake on Daniels' part. They could have made the rail the half an inch longer and increased it's applications.

Next, it feels very narrow to me, too narrow, I just couldn't get use to the small diameter. I have Omegas or PRI carbon tubes on my other builds, and I really like something in that diameter.

Due to it's narrowness there are very few gas blocks gas blocks that will fit under the rail. I also considered shaving down a standard triangle FSB but dismissed that once I saw the amount of work required. So mad props to the OP who got it done. I think the only gas block that would fit without modification was the troy set screw. Even the Daniels Clamp blocks wouldn't fit.

Lastly, the attaching rail sections are very well designed and easy to attach where you want, but they do add weight and if you start to add on a bunch then you lose any weight advantage.

Overall, I think this is a very nice design at a good price compared to other Daniels' products, but it just wasn't right for me.

I was pretty hot to go on one of these until I realized it has no QD sockets. It would be really nice if they integrated QD sockets into the rail a la Larue and KAC.
