Thanks to everyone for their replies on how coarse to grind. I don't care for grainy drinks so I'll stick to medium and coarse grinds.

I was in Granbury, TX this weekend and they have a coffee shop called The Coffee Grinder downtown. The coffee was good and they have tons of beans to choose from to bring home. I was in the mood for something light so I had a cup of Coconut Cream decaf. Which had a nice mellow initial flavor followed by the flavor of toasted coconut, which I really enjoyed. If anyone is ever in that area you should definitely check it out.

Just bought this thing on Wednesday and was testing it out with water first time around.

This morning, its first brew (experimenting still) with Starbucks Reserve Jamaica Blue Mountain.

This one is after the burn:

After about 4 minutes of just sitting:

I think I put too much coffee-to-water ratio. The tryouts continue until I get that "perfect cup" of coffee!

Quite an enjoyable thread....the best coffee I ever had was in Puerto Vallarta at a small 'mom&pop' breakfast place...truly amazing ! Wish I had brought some home...the second best was sumatra organic from Laguna Beach coffee...but now just enjoy regular dunkin donuts brand....and yes it is better than anything at starbucks !

Looks like paraphernalia of some sort...

My fiance just bought a Keurig not too long ago and it has been pretty cool. Not exactly the coffee aficionados dream, but it has got me having a cup in the AM and enjoying it. French press will likely follow soon. We use filtered water from our fridge for drinking, including the Keurig and tea.

Now that's funny! My cousin commented that this thing "looks illegal."

I love coffee. I always have a tall cup in the morning right after I wake up and then again about an hr before I lift or run. Coffee with some aspirin right before you run is the shit.

EDIT: I just started brewing this stuff about a month ago. I drink it iced, straight black with a side of orange juice. I'm going to start experimenting with a French press. I've heard that if you let it soak over night its great for ice coffee.

"Foreign types with the hookah pipes say: Aye oh way oh. . ."

I think I got it down to suit my taste with three (3) scoops for this particular type of brewing which is at about 12 ounces.

Here's a demo found on YouTube:

Of course, wishing I had that Halogen Beam Heater, but at $400USD~$500USD if one can find it! ? ! The spirit-lamp heater will have to suffice for now.

    Here's another "detailed" video demonstration.

Multiple cups of coffee per day is a requirement for me.
