Best hack for the Keurig is called a French press. Make real coffee and throw that other shit away.

What's a decent home brewer? Current,y have a keurig but ready to move on. Im the only coffee drinker in the house. I've become more of a coffee snob lately...wouldn't be opposed to grinding my own beans.

Get you a decent burr grinder, conical is better, but regular is ok and cheaper.

    Get you a $25 Aeropress.

Get you a $20 electric tea kettle from walmart. Ive got this one:

Find a local roaster or order from some of the bigger names like The Roasterie.

I'm not sure I'm a snob, but definitely an "enthusiast". I roast my coffee in a modified hot air popcorn popper and I've been brewing in a Clever Dripper for a few years now. The clever Dripper is a pour over that lets you tweak the brew time.CleverDripper. I'm not sure who the small version is for, the large uses a #4 filter and makes up to about 14oz of coffee. I also have a couple French presses as back ups. I'd like to get an AeroPress as well just because I like experimenting, I guess coffee makers are like firearms and Lay's potato chips.

I think I'm going to grab a Hario conical-burr hand-grinder in case of winter power outages.

I can't claim to have tried all that many brands, but Bodum has been at it a long time and makes a ton of different types & sizes. You can probably find it at Target.

Apparently I've been using the right press, going on 10 years now.
