I won't cheap out on coffee or beer.
Milwaukee, and the surrounding southeastern Wisconsin area is lucky to have a few really good local roasters.
Alterra is big enough to get a large quantity of beans from plantations.
Anodyne has it's sources too. The roast all of their beans in small batches.
I prefer Anodyne.

Scored a French press. Significant jump in quality from the Keurig.
I am using an 8-cup press, does it matter if I do not fill it the whole way and do not compress the grounds when I am pressing? Hasn't impacted the taste from what I can tell.
Any suggestions on a grinder?
The only important thing is you use the screen to screen out the larger grinds. I don't think compressing the grinds at the bottom is going to impact anything. Maybe get more sediment in your cup.
I use a Mr Coffee grinder I got at the grocery store. Adjusts for amount of cups being made and grind size. All you do is press down on the top and it will stop automatically based on the settings.

Me and the Lady prefer a two cup press, and coffee grinder.
Wasn't sure exactly how coarse to grind 'em.
If you grind 'em finer do you get more taste? Even if the drink is gritty?
Also, blaspheme time: I use sugar, and heavy cream.
Do any French presses really do anything different than one another?
Stainless Steel strainers make a difference, etc?
Also, right before I saw the comments I told my girlfriend that coffee maker looked like a piece of meth lab equipment.
We miss you, AC.

Today's morning brew with my Aerobie AeroPress and Porlex Mini Hand Mill set to fine. Coffee this time was OTC Espresso Roast (ran out of the "good" stuff!):
