Both the EVO and The Trident are excellent silencers. Both can be used on most weapons with multiple mouting systems.

The EVO is a very proven design. It set the bar for sound reduction for compact pistol silencers. It is also extremely quiet when used on a 9mm rifle or SMG. The ASAP System (recoil booster) is integral to the silencer, instead of being an after thought or add on piece.

Isn't the Evo-9 three lug mount an after thought?

Since both suppressors have basically been found to have the same sound reduction and are close in weight, I think you need to examine a 3rd dimension-

Yes, but the EVO-9 with the 3-lug adapter is quieter than the Trident with a 3-lug adapter when used on a subgun...according t 1928's testing.

    Other way around...

    Evo 9, thread mount, Special K - 124.2dB
    Evo 9, 3-lug, Special K - 122.4dB

    Trident 9, thread mount, Special K - 130.7dB
    Trident 9, 3-lug, Special K - 122.1dB

Though it looks like he is using the older SWR mounts in that test.

ETA: John used the new SWR thread mount in a later test and he says it cuts the output by an additional 4dB. Which would, in theory, bring the Trident to 126.7dB. Still higher than the EVO-9, but in the same realm.

Buy the Trident-9. SWR is a rock solid company that offers fantastic products and has outstanding customer service.
