    Gunsafe Light (Above Dial)

First, Mods..I'm not entirely sure of where this question really fits in on the forum, but this area seemed most appropriate.

On my gunsafe, I was thinking it might be a good idea to add a light above the dial. Some nights I forget to open the safe while I'm sleeping, so a light would be advantageous in case I need to enter the safe in the middle of the night and don't want to turn on room lights/use a flashlight.

Additionally, for some..sleeping with the safe unlocked might not be a good idea anyway (kids, etc). Mine is next to my bed, so I am not too concerned by sleeping with it unlocked..but I'm sure it depends based on each circumstance.

Does anyone employ a light on their safe to be able to open the dial in the dark?

I keep a flash light next to me when I sleep. I used it the other night in fact to open the safe after hearing some stuff out side....

Owning a safe and then not locking it boggles the mind. If you want access to a gun while you sleep, take it out of the safe.

For me, unlocking it and taking it out of the safe while I sleep would be the same distance. Unless I put it on the nightstand or something, but I'm not going to do that unless I have a good reason to be that paranoid.

i was just going to suggest this. i hear these are good for night time vision. they are red lights so it doesnt light up the whole room. my safe is in my bedroom so this would be perfect for me.
