I have put some lowers together where the buffer detent hole was machined a little too far back causing the buffer to smack up against the detent. Not good, so that's why I was asking about the quality of the AP lower.
    Were those lowers AP lowers?

I'm fairly sure it is Type III hard anodizing, I just find that some finishes chip more easily than others. It seems like the duller near-black anodizing is often a bit tougher than the less-dull pure black, but I don't know if this is coincidence or has a chemical basis.

I bought my first stripped lower locally and got soaked, the lower was fine but price was ridiculous $145 plus tax for a DPMS. I only order online now and have them shipped to any ffl who will do the transfer, I just got 2 spikes tactical stripped lowers from AIM FOR $79, free shipping and a $25 transfer fee from my ffl. So all together with tax I paid $158 for my first which was the total for 2 from AIM not counting the transfer fee. Also Ive had some ffl's in my area refuse to do a transfer because they have them in stock so "why would they want to do that" sure why would they wanna only get a few bucks off a transfer fee when they can soak people for double.

No, it wasn't. It was an older Bushmaster lower.

I thought I had the deal of the century a year ago when I picked up three of them for that price, and I'm still happy with that purchase. You're fine, just be patient about building it and you'll be thrilled.
