Buy it from a dealer you can trust and you dont have to worry if it's an Airsoft knockoff.
WOW... there is an incredibly simple and easy idea to follow instead of spending hours analyzing poor quality web site pictures and comparing minute details in the hopes of not getting burned .especially if your a cheap ass and are hoping that the $150 deal you found REALLY is a real Aimpoint and not a knock off...

I have no sympathy for any one who get's burned on one.. cause there is a easy way to avoid it.. see above...

    aimpoint knock off

we are a large aimpoint dealer and obviously they are the best in the world with eotec a match depending on personal preference. i use both, i like both

we also sell a aimpoint CLONE making no effort to label it a aimpoint. It called a S.P.O.T. and its great for entry shooter, spares ,games guns, etc. it is clearly labeled a s.p.o.t. and make no representations as being an "aimpoint"

we sell a ton over (600 units) in 3 years and use it my self on a lot of"toys" only had 4-5 fail BUT i would never consider it a serious o.t.d. gun or a real deal guys usage. i have 1 on a beretta sotorm 9mm and have 5,000 rds on it.
before that ken hackathorn used it on a lot of uns all the way up to a sniper rifle. when i took the line on i gave 2 to ken hackathorn and he is using it to this day, he changes around a lot but , he still uses the 2 i gave him.

never buy from anyone u don't know (eBay-etc) this unit retails for 139.00 and is worth every penny. hope i am not stepping on anyone's toes, there is a lot junk out there. good inexpensive red dots are out there.

jjw (b.l. farley) and yes i am in the equipment business so be aware. i just wont sell junk.

The support for these clones at the TOS is really starting to grow and gain support from unexpected ppl.

    Aimpoint Comp M2

I bought a comp M2 and it has the etched M2 ont the side and a 10 position switch of which the first 3 or 4 don't show the dot I am assuming this is for NVG....The only thin is the scope covers are not the flip ups they are scope caps...Is this a real Aimpont set up?

Can you post some pictures of it? And, how much did it cost? New or used? Is the red dot crisp and round, or is it "blurry' and reflects red light around the edges? All the knockoff's I've handled (all M4 copies) looked almost identical on the outside, but were a lot lighter, and you could tell immediately that it was fake as soon as you looked at the glass.

For slightly more, or even of equal cost, you could get an RDS from a reputable manufacturer, with a real warranty, and a name they will stand behind.

Steer quite clear of the bogus sighting systems. They will leave you burned.

Additionally, the money you saved on buying the bogus optic will not be a savings when said optic is replaced thricefold due to shock destruction, water damage, etc. As well, the bogus optic will eat batteries like a ravenous Ranger, further increasing operating cost. You would spend more in batteries in one year than the difference in buying a real Aimpoint, which, once purchased, can be red-loctited onto your rifle, since your blaster will break before that Aimpoint does...

Last, but certainly not least, the Aimpoint is made by Vikings...in Sweden. These mother****ers have been munching pork and lighting Hadji up since 800 A.D. Support the Vikings, not sweatshop labourers, slaving away in dank Commie dens, assembling cheap-o optics held together with electrical tape.

You get what you pay for. My policy is to divde the cost of my rifle by a factor of 3, and spend that amount on an optic. If you have a $900 gat, drop 3 bills on a scope.

There's a saying that Americans will put a $100 scope on a $1000 rifle, and Europeans will put a $1000 scope on a $100 rifle.

    Aimpoint Comp M2

Thanks for all of the great info. it has been quite an education and I feel like a dumbass for buying it on sleezebay but, as it turns out, it is the real deal I took it to a local gun shop and several guys looked at it and confirmed that it is real but it certainly has not been worth the anguish i put myself through buying it and then wondering for so long. Not that it was such a great deal but where I bought it worried me. This is the first time I have ever bought something like this from anything but a pro and I wont be doing it again and I count myself very lucky and I do love it it is a really nice sight it works great for my eyes. I am interested in trying out an ACOG or an Eotech 512/552 or the like. Does anyone have 1 for sale or trade. Thanks again.

    Aimpoint Check

    Guys,

I am looking at taking the following Aimpoint as a trade for some of my gear. Before I agree, I would like some professional input.

    Clone?

    Real deal?

    Drop me a PM.
