buy or build my first AR?

So i'm looking at getting my first AR in the next few months. I've been spending most of my time reading the info on here, shooting a few examples, talking with people I know who are knowledgeable about them, and so on. The only thing I'm debating on is whether I should buy or build. If I were to buy, the one I'd be picking up would be a BCM m4 mod 2. I've paid attention to all the charts, shot it, and it fits my needs quite well, but I'm still enchanted with the idea of building my own AR. Should I just get the BCM first and then worry about building my own AR later when I've become more proficient with the platform? I

I would buy the BCM, a good sling, some mags and a **** ton of ammo then shoot the piss out of it and learn some things first.

    That's just me though...

Buy...BCM will be a quality choice for you, it'll last and you'll appreciate the example of the proper components you'll see. Based on your understanding down the road, and the good example the BCM set...then 'build' your own

If you have the dough at the time buy that rifle, you are not going to build a better one. I built my first but buying a BCM was not an option, it's a mut rifle but with quality components nonetheless. When you say build do you mean place the complete upper on a lower you built up? I mean putting together a lower is not hard there's plenty of info out there. If you want to build the whole thing from parts it's not so hard but maybe you should have a better working knowledge of the rifle that said they did make the rifle "soldier proof" for a reason.

+1 on this. I dont know why people think the AR platform is a "Lego set" and they can just "Build" a rifle having ZERO experience, Get some experience with it before you go messin with stuff and then posting threads about how your rifle wont work right.

I read the other day somewhere in a graph that a huge percentage of AR owners had little to no experience with firearms prior to buying their FIRST AR.

Thats ridiculous, and I know who they are and I see them on a weekly basis shooting dirt and water bottles at 15 yards

if you're going to buy your first computer (and you have the same level of expertise that you have with ARs), would you buy one already assembled, or purchase the individual components and put them together yourself?
