    AK slings

Ok, in preparation for the upcoming Vickers Tactical AK class I need to get back into the AK game.

    VT AK class thread:

(1.) What is the best AK sling? I would prefer an adjustable two point if that's possible.

(2.) How painful would it be to shoot an under-folder for two days 800-1000 rounds? I have the funny feeling a standard wood stock AK would be preferred.

I have an extra long RPK (squad auto) sling on my Bulgarian AK-74, which allows it to hang at waist level even on my big ass.

Having said that, if you're looking for something that is more "tactical" or allows more options, I know that Specter Gear makes their slings for AK's.

I'd probably advise against an underfolder for a two day class....while they are compact, and definitely high on the "cool" factor, the fixed stock is going to be much more forgiving comfort wise........

I'm pretty psyched for this class.....

Here's the Bulgarian RPK sling.....no different than any other AK sling other than it's just longer.

I now use my BFG SOC because my original Polish is just too damn short. Do they just sling and unsling their rifles from their shoulders before and after firing? I'm too used to having a nice AR15 rifle and sling where all you do is raise your rifle to shoot...

Yup, most military AK slings are just for carrying over the shoulder.

You will be cursing yourself and your carbine if you use the underfolder for a class.

    Here is the Spectre offering:

AK's generally lend themselves well to slinging "African" style.

Larry says his VT/BFG sling can be adapted to an AK and works great. I'm going to go this route because once you have been spoiled having the adjustability, it would be tough to go back. We just need to contact BFG and figure out what adapters to buy.
