I've put about 350 rounds through it so far and it shot pretty well. The ACOG's zero from the last rifle was almost perfect. I'm interested to see how well it holds up.

Why do the loudest do the least?
Makes sense, what kind of BCG did you use. To me that is the "heart" of the gun. As long as you used one of known quality it should serve you well as a training gun.
Can you give reference to "shady business practices". Because I was thinking of getting a billet upper/lower receiver set for a build.
Nice.
Looks like you got the better end of that trade!

I have a spikes middy 5.56 and a spikes middy 5.45 and I've had good results from both. I'm not ashamed that I own either. Plus a spikes lower on a .450 bushy upper and an extra spikes lower unattached in the safe.
So at least we know they jacked their prices, I jack mine when no one's available to do my work although not 100%. What pisses me off more are outfits that are dealers for products that are in short supply, say like some FN mags, and then sell them all on gunbroker for 4 times their worth under another name so they think you won't know who they are.
The old "gouging BS" again.
Listen up, when you are a retailer and your distributor is selling items for less than you and your competitors then you are being undercut from every direction and especially the most important one, your supplier. When dynamic events occur in the market, like the Obama scare, then distributors are forced to do several things to keep the supply chain upright. One is to restrict product flow, this can be done several ways, the supplier can raise prices, drop retailers, or ration the amount of a product hitting the shelves. During the Obama scare we saw all of these tactics from every seller, whether that be wholesale or retail. Ramping up production to maintain a selling price always ends up the worst model because eventually the market drain ends and the wholesaler is stuck with inventory that can't be sold.
Nice Come Up! No need to apologize for owning it as it will serve you well!!!!!

Listen up,
BCM did not increase prices. I have heard Spikes' reasons for their price increase and I don't buy it. Not 12 hours after the election.
But thanks for the lesson in economics, we're here to discuss AR15s.
Again, Spikes may have all the certs, they may very well be a top tier AR15. My point is they are not proven, such as BCM, Noveske, and Colt and I will tread lightly until they are. Either way, I like free guns. While I readily admit I wouldn't have bought a Spikes (Regardless of "price gouging", BCM offers a comparable product at a comparable price) this rifle is accurate, 3 MOA at 300 yards with M855. and appears to be just as durable as the BCMs I own. Only time will tell.
