    Lovin' those Lever Actions

I've been eying a new gun but deep down I really wanted another lever action!!

Got a 2007 to sit beside my 2006

My main woods gun is the one on the left 2006
It seems made s tad better than the right one but just cosmetics.

    Here are my older 2
    a 336RC Waffle Top 52' and a 336RC 57'-58" 52' on the left

    Showing the Waffle Top

And I like the warm glow to the older wood on both

Nothing wrong with a .30-30. But Marlin makes some nice carbines in .44 and .357 and .45. I had a .44 Mag once and traded it and now kind of kick myself for letting it go. First rifle was a.30-30 Win94 passed down through the family since 1916. Rattled pretty loose but handy as all get out, and had several oddball screws my Grandfather must have used during the Depression years.

The Marlin is a tighter, sturdier feeling lever action even compared to the newer Winchesters of the 1980s/1990s. Nice collection.

I visited with a guy last year who showed me his Marlin 1895 collection, WOW! He has a huge safe with pull out drawers and each drawer has about 12 rifles laid on their side. Probably 6-8 drawers plus 30+ rifles standing up in the upper portion of the case. Well over 100 Marlins and they were all in mint condition. I don't think he shoots the ones in the safe.

I'd like one in 357 since I have a hangun that could share ammo with it. Never really seen any Marlins but the .30-30 for some reason. I want a nice bolt gun but these keep getting mt money

    Marlins

very nice, always good to have a nice lever action.I have the Marlin 1895 in .44 magnum, great rifle right out of the box.I have a Ruger SBH with 4&5/8 barrel in 44 mag to compliment the Marlin for a real nice rifle/pistol combo for bear hunting.
but i see a Marlin in 45-70 on my wish list yet.

I love my Marlin 1895 guide gun in 45-70, it's one of my favorite guns to shoot. To get the most out of that cartridge (and be able to afford to shoot it) you really need to load your own ammo. I like to shoot Beartooth Bullets 525 grn Pile Driver, but some of my loads can be...punishing. Heres a round next to a .45 ACP cartridge:
