    I need another .45

I have a Glock 30 as my only .45 right now.

I'm looking for something I can put alot of rounds in comfortably and replace the G30 as my nightstand gun so it can be my regular CCW piece again.

It needs to have a rail, have at least a 12 round capacity, and have mags readily available.

Any ideas? I'm leaning towards the M&P series, or the HK if I can justify the cost for something that will spend most of its time next to my bed.
Why do the loudest do the least?

go with the hk45 or the fnp 45. they both meet you requirements and are proven reliable. i personally like the 1911 platform, but you will not get the ammo capacity you require

M&P45 or HK45. I'd have an HK45 if I could wrap my head around the magazine catch, but I just can't get comfortable with it. The M&P with some Apex parts is a brilliant pistol, but if magazine availability being in any way hampered ATM is a no-go, then maybe not the M&P, but the factory mags are good ones, just tend to get bought out in certain calibers.

Why not stick with the same platform that has the same trigger and go with a Glock 21SF?

I agree. This would simplify your training and maintenance. The Glock 21 is a big gun, even the SF/Gen4 are large. However, if this is going to be a nightstand gun, then that should be a non-issue.

Handguns are something that you grab when you are not expecting trouble. Rifles and shotguns are what you grab when you've got trouble.

G21 has a 13 round capacity and it shares mags with G30 (but not vice versa).

I havent handled an SF frame yet but I would consider this if I were you.

You could also buy a bigger (G21) magazine for your G30 if all you care about is capacity.

    Good luck!

Sounds like you need a G21 or G21sf

Para-Ordnance have a whole line of doublestack 1911 from 10 rounds to 14 in .45. STI, STV and Wilson also have hi-cap 1911.
