New Glock 34 Gen 4 not pleased...

Only had a chance to fire about 100 rds through my recent purchase but so far I am not pleased. Out of 100 rds of federal 115 gr and winchester white box I had one "modified" stove pipe where the case was stuck pararalle to the slide. I was constantly hit in the head from spent casings and slid would fail to lock back after last round. ( slide fail to lock might be my fault, not use to the larger slide lock)

Do you guys think the spring could be the issues? It is marked 0 2 4 (four in the 6 o clock position)

Also shot my MP9 and TRP both ran like a top.

    UPDATE 9/1
Ok went to the range again, I had the slide locked back for about 3 days I am still waiting on my +P 124 gr ammo and LWD LCI extractor.

    Here is the brake down
50 rds Win White Box 115 gr- malfunction 1 modified stove pipe
hit in face or arm 6-10
    locked back on every round
    50 rds Federal 115 gr - malfunctions 0
hit in face or arm 3-5

now here is the funny thing

I decided to try WPA 115 gr wolf ammo, I shot about 150 rds of it and it functioned flawlessly. I was never hit in face with brass and 0 malfunctions.

I will report more when I get the extractor.

Slide lock my be causing the failure to lock back. I had to remove mine, and once I did I stopped having issues.

The other I am not sure about.

That blows, lock the slide back for a week and see if that helps. I keep wanting to get a gen4 then I see something like this and dont. Last two I bought were RTF and a Gen2. Next will be G34 but a gen3.

Ryu, try some hotter ammo (NATO spec, +P, +P+). See what happens.

Absolutely unsat but the White Sound HRED depressor spring assembly will fix it.

With my Gen4 G17, the LWD extractor was the most drastic improvement.

The WSD HRED alone just caused cases to eject harder into my forehead, left, up, etc....

The HRED with a polished (on the wear points only) problematic extractor on my Gen4 19 made it run like my older Gen3 19 and thats high praise.

Even hand cycling the gen 4 I could see it was not consistent and does not throw it as far as my MP9. Is the extractor hard to replace?

Easier that we have this discussion here.

As I mentioned in another conversation we had, the spring that was shipped in your pistol is supposed to be the "Fix all the issues" spring, but I have my own personal doubts. Indeed the extractor swap has helped many, but in reality most 115gr ammo does not like to work well in the Gen4's. Not giving an opinion just stating observations.

The extractor is not hard to swap. Look at my video's, particularily the Glock trigger job video and you will see how to remove the extractor.

10-4 I will do that, which extractor do you recommend? The casing to the face is really not acceptable.

I have watched all of your "shooting" videos and they are awesome. I will check out the extractor vid.
