    Browning X-Bolt

Just won a Browning X-bolt .338 at a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet. Was tickled pink, came home and did a google and located the following.

Everything was fine untill 300 yards plus.
Keyholing began to show up immed and some bullets hit the paper SIDEWAYS.
We tried different shooter as well as 139, 154, 169 grain ammo...all factory Hornady.
    No dice.

they told me "Browning only gaurantees 2' MOA at 100 yards.."

    2 MOA at 100? Wow.

    Did they keep the gun?

Did they forget to rifle it?!

Before I believed an internet post about I rifle I had in my possession I would try it myself. They may have got a bad one or are exaggerating or inaccurate about the details.

I've only handled an X bolt in the gun store ut it was very nicely made, hard to believe it would have any serious defect in design.

Yes hard to believe. My local range is only 100 yards, therefore won't be able to test greater distances until I head off to Western Pa over thanksgiving weekend.

Interesting video on ejection problem (part I & part II)
