    HK USP .40--good deal?

I was just at a local shop and came across a HK USP .40 (full-size) for under $400. Does this sound too good to be true? There was also a Sig 226 9mm for around the same price. Should I be cautious or are these not unheard of prices for these used firearms?

    Thanks!

$400 is an excellent deal on both. I recently sold a USP 9 for around $550. Hard to say if it's "too good to be true" without seeing them first hand. Is the 226 old school, or does it have a rail? If it's old school I'd definitely jump on it for that price. If nothing else, you could probably make a couple bucks by re-selling it on GB.

I agree. They seem to go for over $500 if in good shape, but you don't see many selling for the new prices that are being asked. Low demand?

It is a good price. Not totally unheard of but uncommon. Jump on it, unless they are just beat to hell. I would go with the HK over the sig, but that is me and it would be close.YMMV

I'm pretty sure there was no rail on it. I've had little interest in pistols, particularly semi-autos--wish I knew more about what I was looking at. The shop is reputable enough I can't imagine these are bum guns, but I sure wouldn't know by looking at them.

A HK USP .40 for less than $400.00 is awfully cheap, well below the average used HK prices I've seen.

    Inspect it closely.
