Yes, it will loosen over time. It's just the differences in tolerances.

Ive had other DD uppers on it before that werent anywhere near this tight but this one is one of DD's newely designed uppers. I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not. Did yours ever fully loosen up after shooting it or did you end up filing it?

I was hoping so. Did you have one this tight as well?

I had a BCM in the past that was also as tight. It loosened over time. It's completely normal.

Ok, I guess I just haven't ran into one this tight before. Thanks for the info.

Yes it loosened up quite nicely. Once I put on the barrel, I was able to pivot the upper off easily. The first few times I had to hit the barrel kinda hard to get it to pivot apart but over time it loosened up.

Ok that's good to know. Mine is a complete upper right now and it is impossible to get it to pivot. I even grab the barrel and the stock and put my knee where it pivots and it doesn't want to move. I've never seen one this tight.

    ?!?
Ummm, is the bolt carrier group all the way forward in battery and not hanging up in the receiver extension?

I don't believe so, put it all the way in until it clicks like I have done on all my others and its not sloppy so I don't think it is sliding back out in the process. I'll have to double check though.

Hmmm....that does sound tight. My biggest problem, besides the tight fit, was I didn't have a good leavage point to take them apart. Thats why putting on the barrel helped for me.

Try placing the rifle across your lap, hold down the stock down with your right leg and rest the mag well over your left leg. The barrel should be facing left, unsupported. Take a rubber mallet and tap the top, front part of your handguard. Keep hitting it a little harder and harder if no movement but it shouldn't take much since you have gravity on your side. If necessary, hit it harder, it can take it unless you're the Hulk

So I take it this is what you did to loosen yours up as well?
