    Year of manufacture: Remington 700 .243

    I have looked at a few online guides, and I am totally confused, so im just going to post a picture up. About when was this rifle made? I can't make out what the first symbol on the left is, looks like a small lightning bolt, then its R W 30 364915

    There is usually a 2-3 letter code on the barrel near the reciever on the left hand side. If in your case it is RW then it was made in November of either 1972 0r 2002, since those are the only years coded with a W since the M700 went into production.

    Thanks for the info! Just what I needed. Looks like a 72 then because it is pretty used looking.
