Bump. I melted the Loctite today and when the set screws backed out, I developed a gas leak. I'm kicking myself for not knowing to do it differently, but it's too late for that.

Anyways, I was wondering if I can use my FSB with the set screws for installing taper pins. The real estate where the taper pins normally go in my FSB is empty, so I don't think there would be an issue drilling through my FSB for taper pins. Does anyone know?

I wish I could just buy a new upper, but I can't justify it when I can eventually fix what I have.

Sometimes its easier to sell what you have to buy what you want.

Check with Repent Arms in Concord....Levi should be able to help you.

There's a machine shop down the road who builds ARs. They have a jig set up under a drill press for drilling taper pins and I had a taper pinned FSB in less than 15 minutes. Plus, they charged 10% of what ADCO charges. It looks clean and straight; now I just have to shoot it to confirm.
