Combative Carbine, Level 2


Course description:

The Combative Carbine, Level 2 (CC2) is an intermediate 3-day course focused on hammering out the rough edges to the modern gunfighter. It will instruct the carbine's core fighting skills by using full range sessions and high repetitions to continue forging correct technique. The course will progress to more challenging drills that will increase the student's shooting speed and combat marksmanship. Graded evolutions throughout the course provide instant feedback to the student on skill development, technique deficiencies and overall ability. The linear progressive training exercises refines the combative fundamentals in order to progress to more advanced courses.

Terminal objectives:

Upon completion of the Combative Carbine, Level 2 (CC2) course, the student will successfully qualify with a 80% or better on the final Standards Test using a tactical carbine with red dot sight firing duty ammunition.


Enabling objectives:

Demonstrate safe weapons handling skills, nomenclature and manual of operation for the carbine.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic carbine equipment and individual combat equipment. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of tactical safety guidelines.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Improved Battlesight Zero, correct zeroing procedures and Point Blank Range familiarization.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Combat Shooting System™.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomical target zones, external and terminal ballistics.
Perform basic and combat marksmanship training exercises.
Mature fighting skills to achieve an optimum balance of accuracy and speed.
Perform ready position training exercises.
Perform pistol transition training exercises.
Perform immediate action and remedial action training exercises.
Perform shooting on the move training exercises.
Perform multiple threat training exercises.
Perform use of cover training exercises.
Perform low light training exercises (if applicable).
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of weapons maintenance procedures, field cleaning techniques and weapons diagnostic process.

Recommended gear list:

Tactical carbine (with tactical sling and red dot sight)
Tactical pistol
1,800 rounds of functional carbine ammunition and 100 rounds of functional pistol ammunition
7 carbine magazines and 3 pistol magazines minimum
5 inert carbine training rounds (no A-Zooms)
Training uniform (ball cap and gloves)
1st Line gear (rigid belt, sturdy holster, magazine pouches and dump pouch)
2nd Line gear (comfortable chest rig or load-bearing equipment capable of holding 5 carbine magazines)
Handheld flashlight
Multi-tool
Tinted/clear wrap around ballistic eye and electronic ear protection
Hydration system and energy snacks
Weapons cleaning kit and quality lubrication

Course prerequisites:

Combative Carbine, Level One or similar from a recognized instructor.
