    Update: In the market for a gen3 G19 - Hit a snag

I've been keeping an eye on the handgun section and doing research for the past few months and am very close to buying my first handgun. I've decided on a gen3 G19. So my question is where should I look to buy? Any recommendations for online retailers? A quick look at google shopping shows them as cheap as $440, is there any beating that?

Bud's has them at $499.00....All the time! I'd use that as a benchmark and go from there...

One of my local retailers has Gen 3 19's for $495. With his prices, I could get another gen 3, a spare mag, and meprolights installed for just under $600.

Join GSSF and get LE pricing at Ed's Public Safety or anyother LE dealer that honors the GSSF discount. G19 with standard sights, 3 mags should be $398.

IIRC, there was a change in the GSSF regulations where you have to be a member for a year before you qualify for the discount. I believe the change went down last year, so that may not be a viable option for someone who wants one now.

Still, joining the GSSF is still a good idea. You do get the discount (albeit later), and GSSF matches are always overflowing with armorers.

$440 would be a good price, considering I pay $425 with my Mil discount.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be at Ft. Benning in a few weeks for my brother's OSUT graduation as an Infantryman. I may have to stop by Ed's. Can you buy a handgun from an FFL out of state?

Yup, you can. They will have to transfer it to an FFL in your state. That's where you do your 4473 and background check.

Generally shipping is around $15-25, and your FFL in your state is going to charge you around $25 to transfer it to you.

I've hit a snag. As I continue my search I've found what looks like 3 different models of the G19. The retailer has a stock description for them all and it really doesn't tell me anything. Can anyone explain the difference between these?

The second and third are listed as 15+1 capacity, the first one is 10+1. Can't I just buy 15rd mags?

You definetely can. The first one you listed is sold with only 10rnd mags, so that it could be sold in a state where you cannot have/buy the any full capacity mags(anything above 10rnds).

The other two are just standard, you are paying for ten extra rounds in the 2 mags you get with it. For what it's worth, I would just buy one of the two with 15 rnd mags because yes you can just buy 15rnd mags...but I why not have just 15rnd mags instead of 10rnds and 15rnds
    "Warriors"

Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets. Nine are the real fighters and we are lucky to have them for they make the battle. Ah, but the one...one is a Warrior, and he will bring all the others back.
