Bought my Dueling Dicks.... I mean Spikes lower second hand and it came with a DPMS LPK in it. The bolt catch snapped in half. FWIW. Really imo I don't find it that significant but i will continue to stay away from DPMS and the like brands.

And for a HD rifle I'm not sure I'd wait for something to break before replacing it. Maybe a hunting rifle. Not anything intended for self defence / protection or duty.

Any part can break regardless of who makes it. A small material flaw, that is quite common in manufacturing can be, and often is, the culprit. Even .gov parts break and they are fully spec, that is why we have armorers and our stuff gets inspected, repaired and updated yearly.

Lets look at something realistically here. We all want our stuff to be up to the MilSpec at the minimum. What many forget is that the vast majority of the Military rarely gets quality trigger time. I am willing to bet my balls that 90% of the GI rifles rarely have more than 200 real rounds a year thru them, and that is a high estimate. The other 10% is the fighters, and the regular infantryman at best is lucky to see 1000 real training rounds a year, but LOTS of blanks. In fact this very issue in one of the top complaints us NCOs have every year, both active and part time. Even with usage that was less than what I put on my old el cheapo range toy AR, every year at TI time 1/3-1/2 of the rifles and MGs end up deadlined for breakages.

Thats what I was thinking because my bolt catch with the BAD lever has some pretty good side to side movement, the trigger is weird and you can hear the reset from 15 feet away through ear protection, and finally I have a S&W receiver extension that is mil spec diameter however I dont think they finished cutting the threads properly because I had a devil of a time getting it to work with my Black widow no mar plate because it would not go far enough down the tube.

I know I chewed up a few of those pins putting the DPMS kit in I will have to see how hard they might be to take out.

*Edit* Thanks for pointing out my "special" moment jet80tv. I have to quote that way on another forum and I got lost and forgot where I was.lol
