Ya I wouldn't call lipo weight loss. Its about removing mass of fat cells from places people don't like.

Weight loss surgeries to me are stomach stapling/bands etc for morbidly obese that lack the will power to save their own life.

I am going to give it to you straight as that's what this site is really about:

If you can't get your wife to buy in to the idea that she has to eat half of the amount she eats right now, then the brutal reality is that even if the laser treatment works, and she drops a bunch of weight immediately after the treatment, within a year or two it will be back. However, it will also have brought with it the resentment that you feel after having spent two thousand bucks to gain nothing.

I know absolutely nothing about laser lipolysis. But I can tell you that if she's not losing weight, or if she's not losing weight quickly, the problem is that she is eating too much and there is NO way around it. And if she is eating too much, that is the problem to fix and it's psychological. She has to commit to being a lot hungrier than she is right now which is not super fun. I know! I have dropped quite a bit of weight in my quest to get fit - I come in around 10% body fat now so I have been there and I know what it takes, and it takes not eating so much. If you don't get that out of the way first, NOTHING will work.

I get where your head is at but that is the bottom line.
Full disclosure: I'm the editor of Calibre Magazine, which is Canada's gun magazine. In the past I've done consulting work for different manufacturers and OEM suppliers, but not currently. M4C's disclosure policy doesn't seem to cover me but we do have advertisers, although I don't handle that side of things and in general I do not know who is paying us at any given time.

Yeh, that's one opinion. If only that was all there is to it.

Not all weight loss is related to will power. Wanna know how I can say that?

I've been eating healthy and working out for almost two years (significantly more than I did prior) and I still wasn't losing weight. Was counting calories, cutting back on "favorites" and what not.

Went to the doctor and had some blood work done for work (insurance) about a year ago and they found that my Thyroid was all screwed up. So for about a year, I wasn't losing anything while working out and eating better. After finding out about my Thyroid (which runs in my family apparently, unbeknownst to me), they put me on some meds. After about three months of taking it to stabilize my Thyroid, the pounds started to come off. Slowly, but they are coming off. Not as fast as I'd like, but with a bum knee and ankle, I can't really ramp up the work outs like I'd like until more weight comes off. It's a struggle, but at least I'm seeing progress now, whereas if I hadn't gone to the doctor for blood work, I'd have never know about the issue and would probably have lost part of my motivation as nothing seemed to be working.

Sometimes, it's not just a motivation issue, sometimes you're body isn't working right... go to the doc and get your blood work done. Seems that there's a lot more (or at least they're finding more) people with Thyroid issues. Must be in the water. ;-)

So far over the last 9 months, I've lost 15 lbs, but I've also put on a lot more muscle as well.

    Good luck!

Fine fine, stomach stapling is for those who lack the will power and/or have a REAL medical condition which inhibits natural weight loss.

Although I'd guess a good dr would check for thyroid issues before slicing you open and turning your stomach into a 1/2 pint milk jug size organ.

Actually, weight loss surgery turns the stomach into something about the size of a golf ball (about 1 fluid oz.....1/8 the size of your 1/2 pint milk jug)

    Fair enough.

Back to the op's question. Lazer lypo = crap.

If the weight isn't dropping like it should, see a doctor maybe the thyroid or other physical problem has cropped up.

No experience, but I am looking into it, and interestingly, may not be as big a BS scam as it appears at first. I may be doing a simple test on the GF with local laser place owned by my chyro pal. Stay tuned.

But, even if it works, one still has to do their part, still have to affect life style changes, etc. There's no free lunch in human biology, no matter what any ad for X product/procedure says otherwise, full stop.
